With the "Children Radiating with Science" Project, Borusan and YGA link 10 thousand children from 23 schools to science

23 April 2021
In cooperation with Young Guru Academy (YGA) and thanks to the efforts of Borusan volunteers and sponsors, Borusan ensures that around 10 thousand students from all corners of Turkey have access to science kits. While children are united with science thanks to the funds raised as part of the "Children Radiating with Science" Project, they will take their first steps to becoming the scientists of the future.

Aiming for an April 23 where all children feel the beat of the festivity, Borusan organizes science and arts workshops for children of different age groups to celebrate the National Sovereignty and Children's Day on April 23, this year marking the 101th year since the day the Turkish Grand National Assembly was established.

Advocating for equal educational opportunities for every child, Borusan Group launches a science mobilization campaign to promote equal opportunities in education. Holding up the ideal of ensuring that children grow up to be "all-rounder" individuals who merge their dreams with science for the tomorrows of Turkey, Borusan ventures into a meaningful partnership on April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. "Children Radiating with Science" Project is launched with extensive involvement of Borusan Group Companies, Borusan Kocabıyık Foundation as well as Borusan volunteers and sponsors, in partnership with Young Guru Academy (YGA). The project is designed to link students from all around Turkey to science.

10 thousand students in 23 schools to be united with science

Aspiring to contribute to the efforts for raising a generation of sensitive young people who radiate with science, and like to question, research and create, Borusan acts as an intermediary by providing children with access to science kits designed to encourage them to generate solutions to address the problems they face in their daily lives, develop products that respond to the needs of the 21st century, and become acquainted with the professions of the future. Within the scope of the fundraiser organized in observance of April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, around 10 thousand students from 23 schools located in different parts of Turkey will have access to science kits, with the support of Borusan Kocabıyık Foundation and Borusan Group companies. The science kits will be sent to the schools where they would become school property, and made available to a growing number of children each year. Borusan contemplates to help raise a future generation of individuals who radiate with science, and make their dreams come true. The science mobilization efforts Borusan takes in partnership with Young Guru Academy will continue thanks to the support of Borusan Ocean Volunteers Platform.

Feeling the beat of the festivity with online workshops

Valuing greater awareness on both science and arts among children, Borusan Holding and Borusan Contemporary arranged two exclusive online workshops on April 23, the National Sovereignty and Children's Day to make sure that children have more to rejoice over this special holiday. Designed to encourage children to celebrate April 23 at home by interacting with their parents, the educational, informative and fun contents of the science and arts workshops will be live streamed on the YouTube channels of Borusan Holding and Borusan Contemporary.

“Hands Radiating with Science Workshop” in partnership with YGA

As part of Borusan Holding's workshops aimed at carrying the festivity and excitement of April 23 to their homes, children will embark upon a journey around the fun world of science and arts, using the practical materials they can find at home. As part of the “Hands Radiating with Science Workshop” organized in cooperation with Young Guru Academy (YGA), children will craft robotic hands from cardboard, on their own or with the help of their parents. Designed to link children to science, the workshop will help improve children's sense of curiosity and raise their awareness. In addition, thanks to the experiments aimed at inspiring them to inquire, children will learn to find solutions to the problems they encounter, which in turn, would help improve their self-esteem. “Hands Radiating with Science Workshop” will be live streamed on the YouTube channel of Borusan Holding on Friday, April 23 at 11.00 a.m.
