My Mom’s Job is My Future

Support for Women Employment in the Industry

In tandem with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Borusan has launched a corporate social responsibility project called “My Mom’s Job Is My Future." with intent to increase the employment rate of women in industry and foster the empowerment of women.

In this context, Borusan is opening child day care facilities under the name of "Borusan Joy Factory" for children aged between 0 and 6 in 10 Organized Industrial Zones (OIZ) in 10 different cities across Turkey. The objective of Borusan Joy Factories is to facilitate the lives of women who are unable to find any employment opportunity for as a result of caring their children and to enhance the contribution of skilled women's labor to the Turkish economy in this respect.

The project "My Mom's Job Is My Future" paves the way not only for the overall empowerment of women, but also for strengthening the economic situation of families, as well as our nation as a whole, by facilitating the participation of more women in the labor market of the industrial sector.

The objectives of Borusan Joy Factories to be established for the care and education of children aged between 0 and 6 include:
• Providing opportunities for women who normally would be unable to work because of the lack of child care;
• Eliminating obstacles preventing women from participating in the labor force; Increasing the rate of women employees in the industrial sector;
• Establishing a suitable education environment for the mental and physical development of children who normally would not have access to pre-school care and education services.

With the support of the project "My Mom's Job Is My Future", it is expected that women’s employment rate will increase, particularly in the Anatolian region. Women will be able to go to work in complete peace and contentment, knowing their children are in a happy, safe and healthy environment at the Borusan Joy Factory.

The first Borusan Joy Factory was launched Adıyaman and Afyonkarahisar. In addition, the construction of child day care facilities located in Malatya and Balıkesir is complete.

The architectural design of Borusan Joy Factories was designated by a national architectural project competition attended by architects from the four corners of Turkey where the jury consisted of academicians and well-known architects.
