Borusan Strengthens Its “Sustainable Future” Vision with Two New Training Programs: Empowering Social Awareness through the Sustainability School and Corporate Transformation through the Sustainability Faculty

Through the Borusan Sustainability School, the Group aims to foster broad awareness and understanding of sustainability, while the Borusan Sustainability Faculty focuses on driving deep organizational transformation and expertise within the company.

By placing sustainability at the core of its business processes, Borusan Holding continues to reinforce its environmentally and socially responsible mindset through these initiatives, developed under the umbrella of Borusan Academy and inspired by the Group’s sustainability vision across its three key value areas: climate, people, and innovation.

Nursel Ölmez Ateş, Borusan Holding’s Group President of People, Communication, and Sustainability, shared her perspective on the initiative:

Borusan Sustainability School: Raising Awareness and Expanding Access

Developed to raise sustainability awareness and promote social contribution, the Borusan Sustainability School is open to both internal employees and all young talents through a collaboration with Toptalent.

The program, built around a series of educational videos, was created by Borusan’s sustainability experts. Covering a wide range of topics—from governance and the climate crisis to human-centered approaches and innovative solutions—the content aims to provide foundational knowledge and update existing insights about sustainability.

The program’s reach on social media has also been impressive: the Sustainability School engaged over 12,000 young talents and generated more than 5,000 interactions across digital platforms.

 

Borusan Sustainability Faculty: Advancing Expertise and Driving Corporate Transformation

Developed by Borusan Academy, the Sustainability Faculty offers Borusan employees a deeper, more structured learning journey. Designed to disseminate Borusan’s sustainability goals across the Group, the Faculty supports organizational transformation and integrates sustainability into daily business practices.

The program encourages employees from different departments to better understand how their work impacts sustainability and to strengthen their contributions in this area.

Spanning a three-year learning journey, the program aims to establish a common sustainability mindset throughout the organization and deepen the expertise of teams working on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) priorities. The Faculty’s content is dynamically updated each year based on global and sectoral developments, Borusan’s sustainability priorities, and employee feedback—creating an adaptive and relevant learning environment.

In its first phase, the Sustainability Faculty enrolled 261 employees from nine Group companies, with an additional 220 participants expected to join by the end of the year.
