Borusan Organizes an Architectural Design Competition for "My Mother's Job is My Future"

Borusan organizes an architectural design competition for “Borusan Joy Factories” daily child care facilities that are going to be built in 10 cities within the framework of “My Mom’s Job is My Future” social responsibility project. The jury of the architectural competition consists of scholars and famous architects. The deadline for applications is 12 April 2013.

25 January 2013, Istanbul; Borusan aims to build daily child care facilities called “Borusan Joy Factories” in 10 Organized Industrial Zones of 10 cities within the scope of “My Moms’s Job is My Future” project in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. The architectural design of the Borusan Joy Factories will be determined by a nationwide competition open to all architects. The Borusan Joy Factories aim to provide a joyful, healthy and safe education environment for 0-6 years old children whose mothers are either working in the industrial zone or would like to do so.

For this reason, on 25 January 2013 Friday, Borusan launched the “National Architectural Design Competition for Daily Child Care Facilities in Organized Industrial Zones” in collaboration with Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi in line with the “TMMOB Chamber of Architects Competitions Regulations.”

The deadline for questions is 22 February and the submission deadline is 12 April 2013. The award for the first prize is 40.000 TL, for the second prize 30.000 TL, for third prize 20.000 TL. There are three equal honorable mentions each worth 10.000 TL and the purchasing value of the project for the use of the jury if deemed necessary is 15.000 TL. The results of the architectural design competition will be announced on Monday, 22 April 2013.

The objective of the competition is to create a model for the architectural design of daily child care facilities with capacities ranging from 75 to 150 children between the age of 0 and 6 to be constructed in different regions. This model, which will be chosen through the competition and firstly built in Adıyaman Organized Industrial Zone as the pilot city, aims to develop children’s values of culture, art, science and nature, while offering quality, original, functional, economic and innovative solutions. www.anneminisi.org.

A Jury of Experts

The members of the “National Architectural Design Competition for Dailiy Child Care Facilities in Organized Industrial Zones” which will determine the design of “Borusan Joy Factories” for 0-6 years old children. The Advisory Jury of the competition is as follows: General Directorate of the Status of Women Head of Department of Economy Banu Tuncay Yıldız, Borusan Holding Vice President of the Board of Directors Bülent Demircioğlu, UNICEF Project Manager Ceren Güven Güres, Journalist Meral Tamer, Borusan Holding Corporate Communication Manager Şule Yücebıyık, Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi Organization Group Manager Architect Banu Uçak and Altensis Construction Energy Partner Green Building Advisor Berkay Somalı.
