Borusan Kültür Sanat is Ready for 2013-2014 Season

Borusan Kültür Sanat is meeting the 2013-2014 season with its flagship Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIFO), our country's leading string quartet Borusan Quartet and concerts in Borusan Music House, the host of Istanbul contemporary music scene. BIFO has accompanied many stars of the music world in its past of 14 years, and invites the classical-lovers to share the excitement of 15th season with its crowded schedule, world-class soloists and surprises.

Borusan Kültür Sanat prepares to enter 2013-2014 season with a rich program and innovations, again. An exciting program was prepared for the season that Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIFO) will celebrate its 15th year; which includes concerts and recitals from star soloists of the world of classical music, and also a series of concerts where BIFO and Rudolf Buchbinder with Beethoven Festival will play all piano sonatas of Beethoven. Turkey's best string quartet Borusan Quartet will continue its season concerts in Sureyya Opera House. In 2013-2014 season, Borusan Kültür Sanat will be moved to the Borusan Music House building, which hosts performances in a wide spectrum from jazz to electronic music. Borusan Music House will also continue to host original projects that will contribute to the Istanbul music scene.

Borusan Kültür Sanat General Manager Ahmet Erenli stated that they are happy for bringing world-class soloists together with music enthusiasts in Istanbul in 2013-2014 season, the 15th anniversary of Borusan Kültür Sanat's flagship; BIFO. "It was a distant possibility to listen to Roberto Alagna in Istanbul a few years ago. But with the distance it has covered in the recent years, BIFO has become a young and strong orchestra that can accompany star soloists under world's spotlights. In its 15th year, BIFO will share the same stage with names from Roberto Alagna to Murray Perahia, from Rudolf Buchbinder to Nicola Benedetti. We are happy as Borusan Kültür Sanat to offer classical-lovers a festival program spread into the entire season."

STARS THAT THE WORLD FOLLOWS MEET BIFO

BIFO is in its fifth season with its constant conductor and art director Sascha Goetzel, and it will meet its listeners with a program prepared with dynamism and care. One of the most striking features of the season that the orchestra will celebrate its 15th anniversary is that works of Ludwigvan Beethoven are given a large place in the schedule.

The season will open with piano duo Güher & Süher Pekinel, having and indisputable reputation with their successes in Turkey and abroad; and the biggest surprise of the season is the French with Sicilian origins tenor Roberto Alagna, who is one of the trending names of the opera world with his successes and active private life, preparing to give his first concert in our country with BIFO. Murray Perahia, who has been on stages for around forty years, indispensable for concert halls and one of the most acclaimed pianists of all times; Rudolf Buchbinder, who is awarded the Echo Classical Award with his CD that he recorded Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas; Markus Schirmer who charms his audience every time he sits before his piano; Christian Tetzlaff who creates a world all his own with his violin on stage; violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti and cellist Leonard Elschenbroich, one of the most famous couples in classical music world will be BIFO's guests in 2013-2014 season. The other names that are distinguished in this season are Alexei Volodin, among today's most important names in Russian piano tradition; violinist Valeriy Sokolov, who receives full credit from critics with his strong rendition despite his young age; pianist Anna Vinnitskaya, who was awarded many awards with Diapason d'Or and Ecco Klassik among them; "extraordinary talent" Alexander Gavrylyuk who inspires with every note he sounds from his piano.
