Borusan expands social impact through volunteerism

Since its establishment, Borusan has placed social benefit at the core of its values. On International Volunteer Day (December 5), Borusan once again reaffirms its commitment to social good through the Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar platform, saying “Gönülden bir iyiliğe varım.” With more than 1,500 volunteers and over 7,000 hours of volunteer work throughout the year, Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar has delivered meaningful impact across numerous projects, leading a significant transformation in the field of volunteerism.

Positioning social benefit and corporate social responsibility as integral parts of its corporate culture, Borusan Group regularly implements volunteer programs addressing diverse social needs and extends the impact of these initiatives to wider communities. Through projects guided by a sustainable development perspective, Borusan continues to contribute value to society while driving meaningful change in volunteer engagement.
Volunteer activities carried out year-round via the Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar Platform span a wide range—from education and environmental initiatives to social support and the empowerment of youth and women—transforming employees’ knowledge and experience into tangible social benefit.

Adoption and care support for animal friends

On World Animal Protection Day (October 4), Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar launched the “Borusan Pati Elçileri” program in collaboration with Her Eve Bir Pati Derneği (HEPAD). Volunteers support the feeding, care, foster family, and adoption processes of abandoned stray animals living at HEPAD Bahçe.
They continue to meet the physical and emotional needs of nearly 1,100 animal companions, working to improve their living conditions while contributing to their socialization and rehabilitation through regular visits.

Running for education with Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar

Okyanus Gönüllü Borusanlılar also ran for education at the Istanbul Marathon on Sunday, November 2. Supporting Darüşşafaka, Borusan employees ran under the message “Söz Konusu Eğitimse Yardıma Koşarız!” to help cover essential educational expenses such as books and stationery for more than 1,000 successful Darüşşafaka students who have lost one or both parents and face financial hardship.
Thanks to the efforts of its volunteers, Borusan ranked among the top three corporate donors participating in the run for Darüşşafaka.

Okyanus Kampüsü: Career guidance for young people

In addition to these initiatives, Borusan launched the Okyanus Kampüsü project on International Volunteer Day (December 5). Okyanus Kampüsü aims to inspire the university-aged children of Borusan employees by connecting them with real-world professional experiences.
Through this platform, young participants gain insight into areas where they can develop, discover their potential, and take more informed steps in their career choices. Mentors share their knowledge and experience, preparing young people for the future through a culture of mutual learning.
