As Borusan Celebrates Its 80th Anniversary, It Shares Its Future Vision Through the Integrated Annual Report

Borusan Holding, celebrating its 80th anniversary with record-breaking achievements in 2023, has released its third Integrated Annual Report, highlighting its journey toward creating sustainable value and outlining its vision for the future. ​

Since its establishment in 1944, Borusan Group has been a pioneering force in Turkey's development journey. Viewing its 80th year as the beginning of future aspirations, Borusan aims to become a group that endures for 200 years and beyond. The comprehensive report serves as a testament to Borusan's commitment to creating value for all stakeholders, contributing to a more sustainable future, and operating as a responsible and transparent organization. ​Borusan In 2023, Borusan Group achieved significant success across all sectors, with a 73% growth in Turkish Lira terms and a 20% growth in US Dollar terms, reaching a turnover of 182 billion TL. The Group also made a total investment of 6 billion TL during the year. ​

Journey Toward a Sustainable Future Through Innovative Initiatives

The report details Borusan Group's initiatives within the focus areas of "Climate-People-Innovation" and the tangible, positive impacts these initiatives have had on stakeholders and the world. In 2023, the Group took significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint, preventing 1,300,000 tons of CO2e emissions. Efforts to enhance energy efficiency resulted in the production of 7,477,652,178 GJ of renewable energy. Embracing the principles of a circular economy, Borusan implemented 10 different biodiversity projects. Investments in R&D and innovation led to an R&D budget exceeding 377 million TL, with 23 new patent applications and the production of 20 new products. ​

Placing "People" at the Core

Demonstrating a human-centered management approach, Borusan places great importance on the development and enhancement of its employees' competencies. Through Borusan Academy, the company provided an average of 11.2 hours of training per employee. The retention rates for young talents were 71% for women and 91% for men, reflecting the Group's commitment to nurturing and retaining its workforce.
