The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) Welcomes the New Year with Classical Arrangements from Vienna

The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) welcomes 2014 with its New Year's Concert on January 9. Sascha Goetzl will conduct BIPO's first concert for 2014 that will see the orchestra accompany the young soprano Çiğdem Soyarslan.

The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) welcomes 2014 with its traditional New Year's Concert. To be held at the Lütfi Kırdar Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) on 9th January 2014 Thursday, the concert will see BIPO play a selection of Johann Strauss II's Viennese compositions while accompanying the soprano Çiğdem Soyarslan.

An Emerging voice from Vienna

Soyarslan, a graduate of the Mimar Sinan University's State Conservatory's Department of Performing Arts, continued her studies at the University of Vienna before making her professional debut at the Istanbul State Opera. Having performed at various important venues, Soyarsalan had also performed Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the BIPO.

The artist has performed at various venues in Germany, Austria, Holland, France; including the Volksoper in Vienna, Frankfurt Opera, Lorraine Opera, Theater an der Wien, and the Wiener Kammeroper. Her leading roles include Constanze in Il Seraglio, Donna Anna in Don Gionvanni's, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Mimi in La Bohème, Angelica in Orlando, Gilda in Rigoletto, and Semiramide in the namesake opera.

Çiğdem Soyarslan is the winner of the International "Young Virtuosos" (Sophia), Iş Sanat's Young Musicians, Siemens Opernwettbewerb, LiedDuo, The 28th International Hans Gabor Belvedere, and the 24th Nico Dostal – Operatta Newcomers 2009 competitions.
